One common misconception is that young adults aren’t interested in buying a home. However, just because millennials are buying homes later in life doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in homeownership.

Millennials have delayed several lifestyle choices, including getting married and having children, in order to spend more time solo, travel, or to further their education. So, it’s true that millennials have prioritized other things first. In fact, today’s homebuyers are purchasing their first home ~4 years later than people in the 1980s and 1990s. However, this still doesn’t mean millennials aren’t interested in homeownership.

Millennials are entering the market in full force, and their share of the market is growing. As they reach homebuying age, their impact on the market is amplifying. Gen Z isn’t far behind, either.
